First Potomac Realty Trust is a self-managed real estate investment trust (REIT) whose largest tenants are the US government and government contracts. The company that acquires, owns, and manages a $1.6 billion portfolio of more than 130 single- and multi-tenant office and business park properties spanning some 8 million square feet of rentable space across the mid-Atlantic region, in Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia. More than 60% of the REIT's rental income comes from its office properties, while the rest comes from its business park and industrial properties.
