Genpact is planted -- past and present -- in General Electric. The company got its start as the India-based business process services unit of GE Capital, GE's financial services business. Today Genpact works with companies worldwide as an outsourcer of business processes, including collections and customer relations, finance and accounting, insurance, and procurement and supply chain. Genpact works with more than 400 global clients in such industries as banking and finance, health care, insurance, manufacturing, and transportation. GE continues to account for a large portion of Genpact's revenue. Genpact has operations in 13 countries; the majority of its revenue derives from India.
