From a garage bathtub in rural New York, John Wiley Jones launched what has become one of the country's leading repackagers of chlorine and other chemicals used for water purification. No longer operating out of a garage, JCI Jones Chemicals now supplies its products to companies involved in paper and textile manufacturing, food production, pharmaceuticals, and industrial manufacturing. It operates primarily along the East Coast of the US, with other facilities in the Midwest and on the West Coast. In addition to the US, it has customers in Central and South America, the Caribbean and Europe. Founded in 1930, JCI Jones has remained a family-owned business; current CEO Jeffrey Jones is the founder's grandson.
