Pike is a big fish that is not afraid to get down into the weeds in the electric current business. The electrical services contractor provides services for more than 300 public, municipal, and cooperative utility companies, primarily in the eastern and southern US. Activities include the planning, design, engineering, construction, maintenance, and repair of electric substations and transmission lines, including renewable energy systems. Pike owns a fleet of more than 5,800 pieces of motorized equipment including trucks, trailers, cranes, backhoes and generators. In late 2014 the company went private via an acquisition by Court Square Capital Partners and CEO Eric Pike.
