Stolt-Nielsen is in its element in seawater. Through its Stolt Tankers, Stolt Terminals, and Stolt Tank Containers units, the company provides transportation of bulk liquids, such as chemicals, edible oils, acids, and petroleum products. It operates a fleet of about 150 vessels that have an aggregate capacity of about 2.5 million deadweight tons (DWT); it also operates a global network of terminals that offer storage of chemicals and other bulk liquids. Besides its core marine transportation business, Stolt-Nielsen produces seafood products, including turbot, sturgeon, sole, and caviar, through its Stolt Sea Farm unit. Director Jacob Stolt-Nielsen and his family own a controlling stake in the company.
