Its primary operations are all within a 1,000-mile radius of Houston. Subsidiary Gulfmark Energy buys crude oil at the wellhead for transport to refiners and other customers via trucks and barges, and the company's Ada Resources subsidiary markets refined petroleum products such as gasoline and diesel fuel. With exploration and production mainly in Texas and Louisiana, in 2015 Adams Resources had proved reserves of 4.8 billion cu. ft. of natural gas and 226,000 barrels of oil.
