Agnico Eagle Mines Limited
Even in bad times, Agnico-Eagle Mines has always followed its own version of the Golden Rule: Gold rules. The gold producer has operations in Canada, Finland, Mexico, and the US. Its flagship LaRonde mine in Quebec has produced more than 4 million ounces of gold since 1988. Other assets are in Canada's Nunavut Territory (Meadowbank mine and Meliadine project), northern Finland (Kittila mine), and northern Mexico (Pinos Altos mine). In 2011 the company reported proved and probable gold reserves of 18.6 million ounces. Agnico-Eagle also produces copper, zinc, and silver as by-products of its gold mining. In 2012 the company acquired Grayd Resource for $275 million and, in 2014, Cayden Resources.
