DSP Group, Inc.
DSP Group loves the sound of its own voice ... chips. The company's name derives from the digital signal processors (DSPs) and related speech compression software it develops; these products convert speech and other audio data into digital values for telephone answering devices, PCs, wireless products, and consumer electronics. DSP's top customers include the Tomen Electronics distribution unit of Japan's Toyota Tsusho (25% of revenue), Philips, Sony, and VTech. Panasonic Mobile Communications accounts for most of the sales made through Tomen Electronics, and 16% of DSP Group's revenues. Operating more than 10 offices worldwide, the company gets most of its sales in the Asia/Pacific region.
