Insurance holding company FBL Financial Group (FBL) is the parent of Farm Bureau Life Insurance Company. Through its subsidiary, the firm sells life insurance, annuities, and investment products to farmers, ranchers, and agricultural businesses. Farm Bureau Life sells insurance and annuities through an exclusive network of about 2,000 agents across some 15 states in the Midwest and West. (In Colorado it operates as Greenfields Life Insurance.) The company markets its products through an affiliation with the American Farm Bureau Federation. FBL also manages, for a fee, two Farm Bureau-affiliated property/casualty insurance companies. The Iowa Farm Bureau Federation owns close to 60% of the company.
