It is the holding company for Slade's Ferry Trust (aka Slades Bank), which operates about 10 branches, including a limited-service branch within a high school, in southeastern Massachusetts. The bank's products include savings, checking, and money market accounts and CDs. It is predominantly a real estate lender: Commercial and multi-family real estate loans make up almost half the company's loan portfolio and residential mortgages are more than 30%. Slades Bank offers investment services through an agreement with Linsco/Private Ledger. Independent Bank Corp. is buying Slade's Ferry Bancorp.
